Dove Season PSA from Volt Broadband!First things first — we support our hunters because we ARE hunters! We love Dove Season as much as anybody. But so far this season, we’ve had 5 different instances of our fiber lines being shot. We know those fiber lines can be hard to see, but unfortunately, they don’t make very good targets! When one gets hit, it can knock out internet for our friends, neighbors, families, and local businesses. And those repairs, well they aren’t cheap. Between materials, equipment, crews, and hours of work, the costs add up fast — especially with the rising cost of everything these days.So keep enjoying Dove Season, be safe, and please watch where you’re shooting! We’d much rather spend our money building the network than repairing it. 😉Happy hunting from your friends here at Volt! **Here is a picture of a gunshot at the intersection of Bill Smith Road and Highway 589 that happened earlier this week that caused outages on Chambliss Rd in Oak Grove.
All services have been restored!! Thank you for being patient as our guys worked to repair and restore the service.
UPDATE!! Apparently our fiber line needed some target practice. Unfortunately, fiber and shotgun blasts don’t mix very well. 😬The result: 60+ customers without internet while our crews work to repair the damage and get everyone back online.Folks, PLEASE don’t shoot the lines 🤦🏼♀️
12:10pm Update ‼️ ETA 4pm today We are aware of an outage in Mangham affecting about 60 people. Our crews have identified the problem, a gunshot to the fiber at the corner of Kline and Highway 576. We do not have an ETA at this time. Updates to follow.
